OK So the vultures are still circling my mother-in-law.<\/span><\/div>\n

She has been doing well (for someone with dementia) since they tried to haul her off to hospital for no good reason with a ‚do not resuscitate order‘ that was not required, some weeks ago.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Just now her carer called, he was wanting to contact my husband who had just left having visited her this morning.\u00a0 The carer said that he meant to ask my husband to write that we give permission for a ‚do not resuscitate order‘<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

I explained that we had been through all this. There seemed to be a presumption that we had changed our minds and he was chasing the paperwork. After I explained several times he finally cottoned on that we did NOT want a do not resuscitate order.<\/span><\/p>\n

So I asked the carer why he was asking about it again<\/span><\/div>\n
He thought it was requested by the district nurse to go with the ‚blue box‘ that the nurse had left in the house.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

I asked what the blue box was.<\/span><\/div>\n

The carer said casually – Oh you know it’s everything they need to end her life – Medalzolan, Morphine all that kind of stuff.<\/span>

I asked who had given permission for the blue box to even be there<\/span> – he didn’t know. I asked if he could dispose of it and made it crystal clear again that we did not give permission for any end-of-life pathway.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
The carer said that he was not able to get rid of the blue box.<\/span><\/div>\n

I explained that my husband has medical power of attorney – but he was doubtful that even he could request its removal<\/span> – saying that we had to check with the doctor or the district nurse to get permission to get that poison out of her house.<\/span><\/div>\n
Unbelievable that they are after her again. She is quite a wealthy woman and so I imagine her bonds are very lucrative. I have no idea why this is still being allowed to happen. Truly disgusting.<\/span><\/div>\n

Stand firm. I used to think people went into healthcare because they loved people. Now we are just statistics to them and probably a bonus in their pay check<\/span><\/div>\n
